Baby & Toddler Group

About the Group:

The Baby and Toddler Group meets in the church.

The Group is aimed at local children 0 – 4 years, together with their mums, dads, grans or whoever looks after them.

There is always a warm welcome at the Group and it’s a great place to meet other children, parents and carers who live in this area.

The group meets during term time on a Tuesday morning from 09:30 – 11:30

There is a nominal charge of £1.50 per family.

Importance of play:

Everyone agrees that the first three years of life are the most important and through secure relationship with a happy adult and then through PLAYING and BEING TOGETHER, little ones learn everything.

We recognise in the group that even the first three months is such a rich time in a baby’s development. Babies learn all teh time through watching and listening. Talking, reading and sining to our babies gives them the best start in life!

What the group offers:

We try to make everyone feel specially welcome and hope that everyone will feel the spirit of freindship – whatever our culture or place of origin.

We’re lucky to have the use of a good hall and plenty of toys.

The format of each morning is roughly the same:

09:30 – 10:30 – Free play

10:30 – 10:45 – Snack time for little ones and tea / coffee for adults too!

10:45 – 11:00 – More play!

11:00 – Clear away toys

11:10 – Singing time with musical instruments led by mums (or dads!)

11:30 – Hometime !!

How the group is organised:

This local group helps to make our community stronger – through making new friends!

We want to make sure that everyone in our community feels warmly welcomed by showing friendship to each other, getting to know everyone by name! (and their little ones names too!)

We hope that everyone will bring ideas – either for crafts, new songs, play activities, snack ideas. From time to time we have committee meetings to which all are invited (usually during one of our sessions).

We really hope that all parents / carers will enjoy being involved in the group and ensure the safety and wellbeing of their own children as they enjoy playing on the equipment.

We encourage children to be kind to each other at all times and ask for your help to ensure that your child’s behaviour does not affect other children’s enjoyment of the group.
